Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum

On Saturday we thought we’d pay a visit to the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum.

Google says: The Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum is a 98-acre zoo, aquarium, botanical garden, natural history museum, publisher, and art gallery founded in 1952. Located just west of Tucson, Arizona, it features two miles of walking paths traversing 21 acres of desert landscape.

The 30+ minute drive there was a treat. The road was narrow, undulating, and had loads of blind turns in amongst cacti and desert plants.

The change of scenery was stunning….

…and there was plenty of photo ops

Berks in the desert was not a great idea, and I had several ‘lean on Lisa’ moments to remove rocks and a cactus needle from the sole of my foot.

Pano

The weather is incredible over here. Warm, low humidity, bright and sunny.

On a side note, I have not had to wear socks and shoes since May😆

.

The trail included an cave interior excursion, which Lisa declined to join me on.

For good reason as it turned out. It was really dark in there and I was stumbling all over the place.

But there were a few good shots to be had.

We gave the Stingray Touch experience a miss; recalling the last time we did it in on Dauphin Island.

Lisa even had the same murder weapon with her…..not a good omen.

We put this day out in the good books. Well worth it and another impressive memory.
