New Orleans, Louisiana

Our final destination before heading north for home was New Orleans. We arrived Thursday evening, then spent most of Friday exploring the city, mainly in the French Quarter.

We walked down Canal Street headed for the French Quarter.

.

We did the River Walk. It was mid-morning and there was a ‘Chilly Wind’ coming off of the Mississippi river.

.

We soon warmed up in the sun.

Overlooking Jackson Square

.

.

St Louis Cathedral

We had Beignet’s at Cafe Du Monde

.

We wandered around in the French Market. There was loads of neat stuff but we refrained from buying anything.

.

We found an original horse drawn hearse in a tat shop.

.

We visited Bourbon Street, that looked nothing like this when we were there.

.

A tram ride to the cemeteries.

.

Lunch at Morning Call

.

Greenwood Cemetery and Mausoleum

Your photos bring back very happy memories for us of New Orleans, or as we were told should be pronounced NAWLINS. Take good care on your travels. Much love from Carolyn xx
