Navarre Day One

We drove over from our location (blue dot) to Navarre beach. And after giving the public beach a look, we kept on going west until we happened upon an area governed by the Gulf Islands National Seashore (GINS).

Because GINS is a few miles along the peninsula from the public beaches and requires an entrance fee or a National Park membership, the place is pretty much deserted (we invested in an one year membership). We’ll be going there tomorrow for some beach time.

For lunch we thought we’d give Navarre’s Dewey Destin’s a go since we had a good meal at the Destin location (admittedly about ten years ago according to Lisa and her miracle memory)

I had Sheepshead with mash and beans, and Lisa had the same with chips.

It was delicious!

Day one was a big success mainly due to finding a brilliant beach location. Lisa is now catching up on Bake Off episodes, and I am outside writing this and catching up on the news.
