Leaving Kentucky

After seven years we finally moved out of our Elizabethtown apartment to E-Town RV Park.

The park is next to the CubeSmart storage facility that now houses what remains of our ‘stuff’. We stayed here for several days whilst taking care of some loose ends.

We had Corvin’s help us to move the heavy stuff and take it to our two storage units. We have downsized another increment, a big one this time, to the point where everything we own is in our Van and two 10’X15′ storage units.

‘Moving in’ day was enjoyably challenging. Our living space was reduced from 1200 square feet to about 225.

Luckily, Lisa is a storage solution expert and we were able to somehow squeeze all the essentials in. We have a lot of stuff under the bed and in the storage compartments; and when we are on the road, we put some stuff in the Jeep.

I decided to replace the existing TV with a decent one and a sound bar. The new TV is bigger and at least twice the weight of the old one, so installing it and the sound bar was a real challenge because when we are driving, everything in the Van shakes and moves around. But after six hundred miles trundling down the road, it seems to be holding up well which is a relief.

We stopped overnight at three places. The most interesting one was Wind Creek Casino and Hotel RV Park, in Atmore AL.

Lisa had a flutter with 20 bucks which took only five minutes to whittle down to 20 cents😆

After four days of leisurely travel, we are at our first temporary home location in Gulf Shores.
