Maker’s Mark Distillery

Lisa and I visited Maker’s Mark Distillery today.
.
The grounds are gorgeous and we had a lovely day for the tour.

.

.

The welcome center has a feline resident by the name of ‘Whiskey Jean’ that has a favorite place to sleep.
.
This is their first ever barrel from 1954.

.

The interiors were filled with the aroma of mash in some places and alcohol in others; our tour group seemed to approve.
.

This person was making bottle labels and we took a couple as souvenirs.

.

.
.

The ceiling in one of the barrel storage buildings had interesting skylights made from colored glass blown by hand.
.

.

Then we came to the highlight of the tour…
.
The Tasting
Not to everyone’s liking…Hahaha

.
.
We left via the welcome center.
.
It has several interesting glass art works.
.

.
We stayed for lunch at the onsite restaurant. I had Shepherd’s Pie and brussels and Lisa had Cheese on Toast; sounds simple right? But they must have a top tier Chef there because our meals were incredible!
.
Bloody brilliant day and I’d recommend the tour to anyone.
